Campus Safety

Parking: Students, you can park in your designated surface lots.

Campus Police will provide shovels to students at the campus police station.

Student Affairs

  • Residential Life staff will still be available to support students.
  • Professional Residential Life staff will be on-call to respond to urgent concerns during normal on call hours.
  • RA duty coverage and residence hall rounds will continue during the closure during normal duty hours.
  • If students need immediate assistance or have an emergency, students should call Campus Police.
  • With the severe cold weather, students are urged to keep all windows closed in the Residence Halls.

Dining

Tuesday

  • Starbucks & 1851: closed
  • Valentine: 9:30am–7:30pm
  • Late Night: 7:30pm–11pm

The Counseling and Health Centers

Both the counseling and health centers will be closed. Students needing assistance should call Campus Police at 617-243-2279 or seek emergency care at Newton-Wellesley Hospital.

Library

The library will open at 10 am with staff working remotely and student workers staffing the building.

Athletics

Mailroom

  • The Mailroom will be open from 10am - 2pm.

Facilities

  • Snow and ice removal operations: Facilities will be actively monitoring conditions and will prioritize snow removal and ice mitigation on main pedestrian routes, building entrances, emergency access points, and primary parking lots. Secondary walkways and low-traffic areas may take longer to clear during prolonged or heavy snowfall.
  • Community safety expectations: Students, faculty, and staff use caution when traveling outdoors, wear appropriate footwear, allow extra time for movement across campus, and avoid restricted or uncleared areas when possible.
  • Facilities response and reporting: Report hazardous conditions (e.g., icy walkways, building access issues) through Campus Police.
  • Building operations: Facilities will continue to monitor building systems during the storm to maintain heat, power, and essential services, and respond to any weather-related building issues as they arise.
  • Donahue’s Gear Shop will be closed, and the shuttle service will be unavailable.

Holway Barn & Rockwell

The Holway Early Childhood Centers are closed.
