Lasell offers a combination of financial support to help students manage the cost of college. Financial aid offers are determined using a structured approach that considers both academic performance and demonstrated financial need based on the FAFSA. You can choose which options work best for you, and our office is available to help explain your offer and next steps.
- Scholarships & Grants: Gift aid from Lasell, as well as state and federal sources. Award amounts are based on academic performance at the time of admission and, when applicable, need as indicated on your FAFSA.
- Loans: Loans through the Federal Direct Loan Program are available for students to help cover their costs. Subsidized and Unsubsidized Loans are automatically calculated in the original financial aid offer. Additional loans included the Federal Direct Parent PLUS Loan or any private loans.
- Student Employment: Opportunities are available through Federal Work-Study and Lasell-funded on-campus jobs, allowing students to earn money and gain experience while enrolled.
- Veterans Benefits: Qualified veterans and their families may be eligible for reduced tuition.
Based on the information provided on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) the Office of Financial Aid will determine your financial need and meet as much of that need as possible with a combination of Lasell, federal, and state funding from both grants and loans, and with Federal Work-Study.
Remember to complete the FAFSA with the Lasell FAFSA Code 002158
Changes to Your Family’s Financial Situation
If your family’s financial circumstances have changed significantly from what is reflected on your FAFSA or federal tax return, such as a job loss, reduced income, or unexpected medical expenses, etc., you may be eligible for a review of your financial aid.
To have your aid offer reconsidered:
- Review your current offer carefully and consider does it fit within your financial goals?
- Submit your FAFSA form as normal (do NOT make adjustments unless our office instructs otherwise)
- Contact our office with a description of your current situation and any supporting documentation at finaid@lasell.edu.
Please note: Adjustments may affect federal loans, grants, and work-study, but declining a loan does not automatically increase eligibility for grants or scholarships. Our team will work with you to review your options and determine if additional aid is available.
