Overview

This course is for teens (12-18 year old) who love sneakers and shoes. Elizabeth Brock-Jones is a footwear innovator who helps take a student's passion for shoes and turn it into skills that can be used in their future careers. This course teaches things that they won't learn in school.  With 4 live virtual one-hour classes, students will learn about the footwear industry and how a shoe idea is brought to life. 

What you will learn:

  • Footwear Basics and common language
  • How shoe ideas go from brief to the actual box
  • Common issues and solutions in footwear development
  • Explore careers in the footwear industry and educational paths that could help them to get a job

Meet the Instructor

    Elizabeth Brock-Jones is currently a Kids Innovation Director at Nike, where she’s worked for the past 9 years. at Nike, where she has worked for the past 9 years. During that time, she’s worked with Sportswear, Special Projects, Global Express Lane and Fuel teams on projects that range from sandals, boots, ACG, running and the entire Nike Off-White x  and The Ten collection. In addition, she spent 3 years in Innovation.  Elizabeth also teaches for the University of Oregon Sports Product Management Program based in Portland, OR, and Lasell University. Elizabeth received her BS in Kinesiology from Iowa State, as well as, an MS in Biomechanics from the University of Tennessee and an MBA in Sports Marketing from the University of Oregon.

    3. If attending classes on-campus or staying overnight, please fill out the Parent Consent Form and Student Health & Emergency Form
