Graduate Admission Requirements
For a complete list of admission requirements, refer to the webpage specific to your program of interest. All programs require the following:
- Personal statement
- Official Bachelor's transcript (unofficial can be used in the decision-making process)
For Certificate and Professional Studies, admissions and registration can also differ by program.
Application Review Process and Matriculating to Your Program
Candidates who complete their application for admission file will be promptly reviewed by the Graduate Admission Committee and notified of a decision within 72 hours. In order to matriculate, admitted students are instructed to place a non-refundable deposit reserving their place in class. International Students are required to deposit $450 to cover the cost of issuing an I-20, and domestic students are required to deposit $125. Once the deposit is received, students work with their Enrollment Counselor to register for class(es).
Interested students are allowed to take a maximum of 9 credits as non-matriculated.
Transfer Credit Policy
Master's degree candidates for most programs are eligible to receive a maximum of 9 credits of relevant graduate-level coursework taken at an accredited institution. Master of Science in Athletic Training degree candidates are eligible for a maximum of 6 graduate transfer credits, and in compliance with Quinn Bill approval, Master of Science in Criminal Justice students are eligible to receive up to 6 transfer credits. Transfer credit may be awarded applied toward degree requirements under the following conditions:
- A grade of B or better has been earned
- Coursework fulfills degree requirements
- Coursework taken prior to enrollment at Lasell was completed within the past seven years at the time of enrollment
Current students who wish to take graduate courses at another institution and transfer the courses into Lasell must request approval from their Advisor before registering for the course(s). ( Students who are considering this must complete the Transfer Credit Approval Form. Students are required to obtain all necessary approvals before enrolling in the course(s).
Grades for courses taken at another institution are not calculated into a student's grade point average.
