  • Matt Shearer — Voted “Best Social Media Personality” by Best of Boston two years in a row.
  • Alberta Chu — Documentary filmmaker (PBS, Discovery, Fox and National Geographic) and co-founder of the Facetopo beauty app.
  • Latoyia Edwards — Emmy-winning anchor at NBC10 Boston, recently named a Most Influential Bostonian by Boston Magazine.
  • Travis Roberston — Executive Creative Director for AdAge’s 2024 Small Agency of the Year, Colossus.  

Then mix it up with returning Communication and Graphic Design alums at a meet-and-greet session followed by reception.

Matt Shearer
Social Media Storyteller and Reporter, WBZ News

Matt Shearer is a reporter for WBZ NewsRadio in Boston, where he focuses on feature stories about people and places in Massachusetts. A lifelong resident of the Commonwealth, he shares his reports across social media platforms and was named “New England's most viral journalist” by The Boston Globe. Shearer has almost 90,000 followers on Instagram alone. His unique approach to social media storytelling has earned him a National Edward R Murrow Award for “Excellence in Innovation,” two “Best of Boston” titles by Boston Magazine, as well as international press coverage from outlets ranging from Bloomberg to People Magazine. He previously worked as executive producer for “The TJ Show” on 103.3 Amp Radio (WODS-FM) and “The Jim & Margery Show” on 96.9 Boston Talks (WTKK-FM). He is a graduate of Emerson College.

Documentary Filmmaker and Founding Director, ASKlabs

Alberta Chu is founding director of ASKlabs, a boutique digital content production company, established in Boston in 2004. As cultural producer and digital content creator, Alberta worked to create non-fiction popular science programming for major TV networks such as PBS, Discovery, Fox, and National Geographic. In 2014, Chu co-founded Facetopo, an ongoing global beauty and wellness project. Facetopo has exhibited with: AAAS, USA Science and Engineering Festival, Cambridge Science Festival, Hubweek, Cambridge Innovation Center, and SciStarter. Chu is an active supporter of the MIT List Visual Arts Center, Emerson Contemporary Media Arts Gallery, and Boston Art Review. In 2017, Chu partnered with Boston artists and activists to produce the Nasty Women Boston Art Exhibition and Sale in Boston's SOWA gallery district.

Latoyia Edwards
Emmy Award-winning Anchor, NBC10 and NECN

Latoyia Edwards is an Emmy Award-winning anchor on NBC10 Boston and NECN. She was recently named one of Boston Magazine’s Most Influential Bostonians. She is a multi-talented journalist moderating political debates, field-anchoring live news events, securing exclusive one-on-one interviews and emceeing countless charity events each year. Edwards first anchored television for MediaOne cable news network, while also reporting as the morning drive news anchor for WILD 1090 AM. Additionally, she has instructed courses for the Connecticut School of Broadcasting and represented Massachusetts in the Miss USA pageant. Edwards celebrates her hometown roots as a native of Boston's Dorchester neighborhood. She is a graduate of Boston Public Schools, including the exam school Boston Latin Academy. She graduated magna cum laude from Emerson College with a degree in broadcast journalism.

 

Travis Robertson

Travis Robertson
Co-founder and Executive Creative Director, Colossus

Travis Robertson is a multi-disciplinary Designer and Art Director from Boston. He is is the Co-Founder and Executive Creative Director of design and advertising agency, Colossus, AdAge’s 2024 Small Agency of the Year. Robertson has created visual identities and brand campaigns for Jack Daniel’s, Guinness, Volvo, New Balance, Reebok, Old Spice, The Boston Symphony Orchestra, Audi and many others. His work has been recognized by The Type Directors Club, The Art Directors Club, The One Show, Communication Arts, Cannes Lions, Graphis, Clios, D&AD, Print Magazine, AICP, Webby’s, the FWA, and is on exhibit in the permanent collection of the Cooper-Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum. He has won 8 Emmy’s for his commercial work and in 2024, Robertson was named to Graphic Design USA’s “People to Watch."
