Faculty Positions At Lasell University

Why Join Lasell University?

  • We care deeply about teaching. We value pedagogy. We'll support your research, and we are not a "publish or perish" institution. We encourage collaboration with undergraduates and graduate students on research projects and as your research assistants.
  • We have renewable single and multi-year contracts, rather than tenure. That makes us less competitive with one another and more interdisciplinary.
  • We operate with the philosophy of Connected Learning. That means that the University supports your efforts to think creatively about how to help students connect subject matter with the real world. We fund student centered innovative pedagogy, guest speakers, field trips, off-campus travel with students; and we provide support for your professional development.

Lasell is committed to fostering an intellectually enriching and inclusive educational environment. We are dedicated to enhancing our employees' intercultural competence and sensitivity in fulfilling their roles and interacting with students and employees who are broadly diverse with regard to various aspects of identity, such as race, ethnicity, ability status, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, nationality, and religion.

We seek faculty and staff who appreciate the value diversity brings to a campus community and are eager to foster an inclusive environment here at Lasell. Employees who represent the various areas of diversity of our student body are key contributors to our strategic vision.

Lasell University, founded in 1851, is an independent, coeducational, non-sectarian institution of higher education. We are located eight miles from Boston in Newton, Massachusetts.

The University has undergone significant growth over the past two decades, including a 60 percent increase in its undergraduate population to approximately 1700 students. The graduate program enrolls over 400 students.

Lasell University offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including generous time off benefits, health, dental and vision insurance, benefits for legal domestic partners, tuition benefits and more.
