Assistant Professor of Data Analytics

The School of Health Science seeks an Assistant Professor of Data Analytics for a 2023-2024 appointment. 

The School of Health Sciences at Lasell University in Newton, Massachusetts seeks a highly motivated, entrepreneurial, and collaborative individual to assume the responsibilities of leading this growing program. This is a full-time, non-tenure-track, 9-month appointment to begin immediately reporting to the Assistant Provost of the School of Health Science.  

 

The successful candidate will join our growing undergraduate and graduate academic programs in the dynamic School of Health Sciences, established in 2018. More senior rank will be considered based on experience and other credentials.

Our recently opened state-of-the-art Science and Technology Center offers specialized laboratories, with commercial grade instrumentation, including 4 science labs, exercise physiology lab, strength and conditioning lab, computer lab, multipurpose classrooms, 29 faculty offices, stockrooms, and specialized study rooms.  

 

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Provide on-campus instruction utilizing the college philosophy of connected learning (teaching and learning support provided for instructors)
    Incorporate the use of Canvas Learning Management System in all aspects of course delivery
  • Maintain weekly virtual office hours
  • Provide a syllabus and course outline to students that clearly communicates course content and requirements via Canvas Learning Management System
  • Provide timely feedback to students as defined by the Teaching and Learning Guidelines established by Lasell’s Teaching and Learning Center
  • Keep accurate records of student progress through the Canvas gradebook feature
  • Communicate and work collaboratively with the Graduate Program Chair and GPS staff on course content requirements and methods of delivery.
     

Qualifications:

Minimum of Master’s degree in a related field, and evidence of expertise in Data Analytics. Prior college-level teaching experience, a familiarity with online learning management systems preferable. Industry experience is a plus.
