Assistant Professor of Sport Management

The School of Business seeks a highly motivated and collaborative individual to assume the responsibilities of Assistant Professor of Sport Management for a Fall 2024 appointment. More senior rank or the potential to become Program Chair will be considered based on experience and other credentials.

Responsibilities:

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in the Sport industry who will assume a leadership role in this area of study at Lasell University. Successful candidates will demonstrate an avid interest in utilizing a project-focused approach to teaching, supporting the University’s educational philosophy, Connected Learning. Faculty in all disciplines at Lasell may have the opportunity to teach in our Honors Program as well as the Core Curriculum.

The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence and enthusiasm in teaching and student advocacy; commitment to productivity and professional development; and active participation in school and college service that includes but is not limited to faculty standing committee work and academic advising.

Candidates should have strong communication and interpersonal skills and a commitment to collegiality and teamwork. Our growing undergraduate and graduate programs are looking to enhance and diversify offerings. The successful candidate will have the ability to work both within and beyond program specific needs to shape the ongoing development of the curricula offered within the School of Business.

Qualifications:

Terminal degree preferred but not required. A Master’s degree in Sport Management or a Business-related concentration is preferred, as is industry experience. Highly desired is experience managing or working for a sport organization. Experience teaching college-level sport or business courses is preferred.
