New Student Orientation Programs

Lasell University Summer OrientationWelcome, from the Office of Student Activities and Orientation!

We are very excited that you are joining our Lasell University community. Orientation Programs for you and other new students are organized by the Office of Student Activities and Orientation.

The Office of Student Activities and Orientation is located in the Arnow Campus Center, on the 2nd floor, and is open Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. during the academic year, and Monday through Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. during the summer. We have four different Orientation Programs here at Lasell University:

Laser Link Orientation
, our June program, is a two-day overnight program that introduces students to Lasell and all the resources available to help you be successful. Students attending this program will meet many of their classmates, members of the faculty and staff, learn about meal plans, housing options and select courses for the fall. On Day 1 of each session student check-in takes place at Rockwell Hall from 8:30-9 a.m. Day 2 of Laser Link Orientation, which runs until 3 p.m., is Parent and Family Orientation*. The cost for this program is $60. New students will receive additional information in the New Student Guide Spring 2020 (downloadable PDF). Registration for Laser Link Orientation opens in May on the New Student Welcome Site

*Parent and Family Orientation, a full-day program, takes place on Day 2 of Laser Link Orientation. A variety of information sessions and other events are planned for your family's visit. If families chose to participate, registration for Parent and Family Orientation is processed concurrently with your student's registration for Laser Link Orientation. Check-in for Parents and Family Orientation takes place in the Winslow Academic Center, Glow Lounge, from 9:30-10 a.m. The entire program runs from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., with an optional campus tour offered at the conclusion of the day. The cost is $15 per person (which includes lunch).  

Laser Transfer Transitions takes place in August and is for all students transferring to Lasell University will have the opportunity to meet classmates and members of the faculty and staff during the program.  In addition, students will choose their courses for the fall and learn about dining options, housing options, and information technology. This one day program takes place in August and registration opens in July on the New Student Welcome Site

Lasell Laser Welcome Weekend, a three-day program for new students, takes place prior to the start of classes in September. This year, the program will run Saturday, Sept. 5, Sunday, Sept. 6, and Monday, Sept. 7. During Lasell Laser Welcome Weekend you will learn how to navigate the Lasell campus. Part of this program is focused on adjusting to your new community, learning where your classes will take place, meeting with faculty & staff members, and enjoying time with other new students. You will have the opportunity to explore and learn more about campus departments, meet in small groups, come together to discuss diversity, inclusion, and enjoy social activities during the day and at night. The program will accommodate all new students - resident, commuter, and online. Parts of the program will be required, and parts will be recommended. Registration for the weekend will open in mid-August. 

Laser Winter Orientation
 takes place in January and is focused on helping you adjust to Lasell University, meeting faculty, staff, and other students, and assisting you in the course registration process. Registration for this one day program opens in January.
