Position Description:

Create content for Lasell University. Including primary social channels and support the efforts of the Marketing & Communications team. We are searching for someone who has a passion for higher education, engaging content and social media.

This role requires you to build, interact, and maintain Lasell University's presence across all social and digital outlets. You will help tell stories of the amazing students, faculty and staff. Day to day you lead the charge on posting, tweeting, sharing, creating and reposting content. This position reports to the Director of Communications.

Potential Duties include:

  • Guide students in the learning process and help them become strategic and independent learners by facilitating their effective use of prior knowledge, targeted strategies and skills to advance and optimize their learning.
  • Help students integrate and apply effective study skills, learning strategies, active reading/note-taking, time management and organization skills to their specific courses throughout the year.
  • Document and communicate student progress by completing required tutoring session notes.
  • Regularly attend and participate in staff meetings to collaborate and plan academic supports.
  • Support a welcoming and supportive learn-how-to-learn environment by creating a dynamic learning atmosphere conducive to active learning.
  • Monitor and assesses student progress and determines the need for additional reinforcement or adjustments to instructional techniques.
  • Assist with administrative duties related to the provision of accommodations and/or the learning process.

  • Expert using, interacting, and monitoring all social media channels and applications
  • Create content for multiple platforms
  • Create, maintain and manage social media calendar
  • Ability to conceive, launch and execute social campaigns
  • Provide detailed reports of social media engagement
  • Comfortable working on multiple projects in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
  • Expert on technology trends and a news junky
  • A team player with a positive attitude
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop + Illustrator)
  • Proven record of successful previous social media campaigns
  • Strong project management skills

Experience and educational outcomes for Graduate Assistant: 

This GA will be part of the Marketing and Communications team that is responsible for all owned content (including social) for the College. This person will be responsible for our social media content from idea to execution. As we grow as an institution our owned content becomes more important and after 10 months working on the MarCom team this person will have an incredible portfolio to showcase to a future employer.
