FAQs - Frequently Asked Questions

What is a post baccalaureate pre health program?

It’s an accelerated certificate that lets degree holders complete or retake the science prerequisites (biology, chemistry, physics, math) needed for professional schools in medicine and allied health.

Can I work full-time while enrolled in a post baccalaureate premed online program?

Absolutely. Courses are asynchronous, so you can study in the evenings or on weekends and check in with faculty during weekly office hours.

Do online pre‑med classes include laboratory work?

Yes. Every science course features virtual, instructor guided labs that satisfy professional school requirements—no on-campus sessions needed. We recommend students confirm with the institutions where they are applying  if online courses are accepted.

How long does an online post baccalaureate pre-health program take to finish?

Most full‑time students complete Lasell’s certificate in two 15‑week semesters (≈ 9 months). Part‑time learners can spread the 18–24 credits over three or four terms to fit a work schedule

Will this certificate raise my GPA for medical school applications?

It can. Grades earned in these upper division science courses are calculated into your AMCAS or CASPA cumulative GPA, helping strengthen an academic record[HC1] .

What’s the difference between a post baccalaureate pre-health program and a master’s in medical science?

A post baccalaureate certificate delivers the prerequisite undergraduate sciences you’re missing, while an M.S. in Medical Science offers graduate level coursework.

Do I need letters of recommendation to apply?

No. Admission is based on your bachelor’s transcript, GPA, and personal statement; recommendation letters are optional.

Yes—provided you hold a bachelor's equivalent degree and meet English language proficiency requirements. Because the program is fully online, an F1 visa is not needed.
