Overview

Lasell’s Master of Science in Rehabilitation Science program is designed for educators and registered, certified and/or licensed health and rehabilitation professionals interested in expanded roles in professional practice, administration, research, and teaching. You will develop problem-solving skills necessary to assume leadership roles in research, clinical practice, and educational settings in health-related disciplines.

Offered online for convenience - Experience all the quality you demand from a graduate program paired with the convenience of classes offered exclusively online. With 24/7 access, you can complete your coursework as your schedule allows, knowing that you can join class discussions at times that work for you.  The online degree includes an optional Field Experience Course and a required separate summer residency where students will acquire and apply manual therapy techniques in a laboratory setting.   

Competitive curriculum - Our distinctive Rehabilitation Science graduate program is the only one of its type in the Northeast. Classes include Pathokinesiology, Pharmacology and Advanced Kinesiology and Biomechanics.   

Highly qualified faculty practitioners - Professor Cristina Haverty, M.Ed., Chair of our Athletic Training and Exercise Science department, has been with Lasell for 15 years. During her tenure, she has been instrumental in leading the department through several re-accreditation processes to a successful position among athletic training programs in the region.

*Students Participating in the MS in Rehabilitation Science will earn a Graston Level 1 or NASM Corrective Exercise Certification, as well as FMS Level 1 Certification during the program. Currently, these certifications are recognized in the state of Massachusetts and nationally, but students should visit the organization sites for additional information.

Curriculum

The MS in Rehabilitation Science curriculum provides students with an interdisciplinary approach to the scientific process and a strong foundation in research experience and methodology, and effective treatment approaches to a rehabilitation science practice. 

This program is a total of 36 credits comprised of 30 required credits (10 courses) and 6 elective credits (2 courses) which can be choosen from any graduate level course.

Requirements

Candidates seeking admission to Lasell University's Rehabilitation Science graduate degree program must hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. GRE/GMAT scores are not required for admission.  The TOEFL may be waived for international applicants who have earned a bachelor's degree at an accredited college/university in the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, or Canada. All other applicants must submit a TOEFL/IELTS score.

  4. A one-page personal statement describing your goals, strengths, and potential for achievement in graduate school
  5. Minimum GPA of 2.75
  6. Anatomy & Physiology I and II (8 credits), Kinesiology (3-4 credits), and Statistics (3 credits)
  7. Resume

A cumulative grade point average of 3.0 is recommended for recent college graduates with fewer than 3 years of professional work experience.*
