Overview

The Neurodiagnostic Technology (NDT) Certificate Program prepares students for entry into the specialized field of neurodiagnostic testing, with a primary focus on electroencephalography (EEG). Through a combination of online coursework, laboratory instruction, and supervised clinical experiences, students develop the knowledge and practical skills needed to perform diagnostic procedures that help identify and monitor neurological conditions. 
  
Students build a foundation in neuroanatomy, neurophysiology, neurological disorders, instrumentation, and professional practice while gaining exposure to a variety of neurodiagnostic procedures. Clinical experiences provide opportunities to apply classroom learning in healthcare settings and develop skills in patient care, data acquisition, and diagnostic testing. 
  
The program serves a diverse learner population, including career changers, incumbent healthcare professionals, and individuals seeking entry into the neurodiagnostic workforce. Graduates are prepared to pursue professional certification and employment as neurodiagnostic technologists in hospitals, surgical centers, and related clinical environments. 

Program Mission

The Neurodiagnostic Technology Certificate Program is dedicated to preparing competent, ethical, entry-level neurodiagnostic technologists who are equipped to deliver safe, patient-centered care and to support the accurate diagnosis and management of neurological disorders. Through a rigorous and outcomes-based curriculum, the program emphasizes educational excellence and the development of strong clinical competencies grounded in current professional standards. Students are prepared to practice with integrity and accountability, demonstrating professional and ethical behavior in diverse healthcare settings. The program further promotes lifelong learning by fostering critical thinking, adaptability, and engagement in evidence-based practice. In alignment with institutional priorities and CAAHEP accreditation standards, the program is committed to meeting community and workforce healthcare needs by graduating professionals who are practice-ready and responsive to the evolving demands of neurodiagnostic care. 

Why Study Neurodiagnostic Technology? 

Neurodiagnostic Technologists are in sustained national and regional demand, driven by an aging population, increased prevalence of neurological conditions (e.g., epilepsy, stroke, sleep disorders), and expanded access to diagnostic services. National employment data project 7–9% growth through 2032, with more than 12,600 job openings annually due to growth and workforce replacement—rates that are faster than average for allied health occupations. Requirements

The Neurodiagnostic Technology Certificate is suited for students who want to start an exciting career as a Neurodiagnostic Technologist. This online certificate program does not require the SAT/ACT.

Application Deadline: August 15, 2026
Admission Timeline: All applicants must complete an interview with the Admission Committee. Interview invites will be sent on a rolling basis once your application is complete. All decisions will be sent within one week of your interview. 

Admission Requirements Checklist:

  • Complete an online application

  • Official College Transcript or Official High School transcript or GED record if you have less than 12 credits of college-level work
    • Transcripts/diplomas with coursework completed outside the United States must be evaluated by CED, WES, or SpanTran.

  • Personal statement that addresses the following prompt:
