Remote Library Services

The library offers several services that are accessible whether you are on- or off-campus:

Librarian assistance

Live chat: Librarians are available via live chat during research help hours (generally 8:30–4:00 Monday–Friday). Librarians can provide help on all aspects of research, including finding sources, searching databases, and citing.

Text message: Librarians are available by text during research help hours at 617-475-3636.

Phone and email: Librarians are available during research help hours by email, or by phone at 617-243-2244.

Zoom: Please email library@lasell.edu to set up an appointment.

Self-service

Research guides: The library's research guides are the best place to begin exploring on your own. Guides are available for every subject taught at Lasell, as well as many specialized topics and select individual courses. Citation guides are available for APA, MLA, and AMA styles.

Tutorials: Online tutorials cover several topics related to research and library use. Further tutorials are currently in development.

Databases: The library provides access to over 100 databases, which provide scholarly articles and eBooks, company and country data, and primary sources. The database list can be filtered by school or by content type. For subject-specific database recommendations, see the relevant research guide.

Minuteman Library Network: If you live in the MetroWest area of Massachusetts, ranging from Woburn and Somerville to Franklin and Acton, your public library is likely a member of the Minuteman Library Network. Your Lasell ID doubles as your library card, allowing you to check out books at any Minuteman library, or to have them sent to Lasell via the Minuteman catalog.

Digital archives collections: Several key collections from the archives are available online through the Digital Commonwealth project.

Library A-Z: If you are looking for another online resource not listed here, it may be linked in our A-Z index of key library resources and services.

If you have any further questions regarding remote access to library services and resources, please contact a librarian.
