DECA Students Rank Among Top Competitors

Lasell University's collegiate DECA chapter sent 11 team members to the International Career Development Conference (ICDC) in Orlando, Florida, where they competed against more than 1,300 students from around the country.
Students from Lasell's School of Fashion and Longe School of Business competed individually and in teams in categories including fashion merchandising, retail management, human resources, marketing communications, and advertising.
Six of Lasell's competitors made it to their category semifinals (Top 20), with four advancing to the finals (Top 10). Ashley Green '25 (fashion merchandising) and Spencer Villinski '25 (retail management) ranked among the Top 20; Alyson MacSweeney '25 secured a Top 10 spot in the fashion merchandising competition, while the team of Macy Miller '23, Jillian Nangle '24, and Hannah Ward '25 made the advertising finals.
"I had an incredible time at this year's ICDC," said Villinski. "It was a pleasure and a challenge to compete."
DECA, Inc. prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management in both high schools and colleges around the globe. Lasell's DECA chapter has been an active participant in events including the annual ICDC.
