Why did you choose to study abroad?

I chose to study abroad because of the once in a lifetime opportunity that a semester abroad offers. The combination of learning other cultures, traveling across Europe, and making memories with close friends was something that I could not pass up. I feel strongly that one of the best ways to learn is from an immersion-based model and I was able to do that in Italy. As someone who takes pride in my 100% Armenian heritage and sharing my culture, I felt privileged to not only learn about Italian culture, but cultures from so many other countries.

How has your experiences abroad had an impact or provided more value to your Lasell experience?

My semester abroad has grown my sense of independence, confidence, and open-mindedness. By immersing myself in another country, traveling across Europe, and learning along the way, I feel that I grew as an individual. I have used this individual growth to challenge my peers academically, collaborate effectively in group settings, and continue to push myself to excel.
