Fashion and Design Students Travel to Paris for Connected Learning Experience
August 18, 2025

Students from Lasell University’s School of Fashion recently participated in a two-week immersive learning experience in Paris, France—furthering the University’s mission to blend academic coursework with real-world experiences.
The trip, which takes place every other year, brought twelve students to the fashion capital of the world, accompanied by faculty members Gail Jauregui, Chair of Fashion Design and Associate Professor of Fashion, and Kristin Kinsky, Coordinator of Fashion Merchandising and Associate Professor of Fashion.
In partnership with the Paris American Academy, the program offered students a unique opportunity to expand their knowledge through hands-on learning, cultural exploration, and professional networking.

The experience was in collaboration with a semester-long academic course, Fashion Short-Term Study Abroad, which explored the historical and cultural context of Paris in a global fashion setting. The course laid the foundation for the international experience, enabling students to connect classroom learning with firsthand experiences.
While in Paris, students attended lectures and workshops, explored historic landmarks, and visited globally recognized luxury brands. Additionally, students were given the opportunity to attend Men’s Fashion Week, further unifying the connected learning experience.
Faculty members who traveled with the group praised the students for their professionalism and enthusiasm throughout the experience.
“I was thrilled with the group,” Jauregui said. “They were absolutely wonderful to travel with. They were eager, they were interested, and it was so great to see the light come on for them.”
Kinsky also said that she was impressed by the group of students who participated in the trip, and that she hopes Lasell students continue to take advantage of the opportunity in the coming years.
“I think that anyone who has the opportunity to take advantage of any of the things we do here at Lasell absolutely should,” Kinsky said.
