Talbots corporate recruiter Alexandra Palmisano was eager to find a local university to partner the company with. Palmisano, a former student of Lasell Associate Professor of Fashion Anne Trevenen, remembered Trevenen’s skill for matching students with internships that best fit their passion, and was well aware of Lasell University’s reputation for producing exceptional, career-ready students through its School of Fashion. After a quick conversation, a partnership was born.

“Lasell’s reputation precedes them,” said Palmisano. “The Connected Learning curriculum and real word experiences offered to students makes Lasell an ideal partner and one we are very excited about.” 

In the coming years, Talbots will prioritize Lasell University School of Fashion students for their summer internship program. The company has also pledged to contribute professional apparel to the University’s on-campus Career Closet, which provides professional attire rental and styling services for students attending conferences, interviews, and corporate trips. 

“Talbots is an incredibly well-respected brand in the fashion industry, and we are so excited to grow our relationship with them,” said Trevenen. “Our students will benefit greatly from these opportunities.”

Earlier this fall, Lasell School of Fashion students visited Talbots’ corporate headquarters in Hingham, Massachusetts, to see first-hand the company’s merchandising production operation in all areas, including catalog layout, visual merchandising, and eCommerce.
