Lasell University Announces The Lasell Tuition Commitment
September 18, 2025

Lasell University today announced The Lasell Tuition Commitment, a bold new initiative designed to make higher education both accessible and transformative for Massachusetts residents.
The Lasell Tuition Commitment will cover tuition for Massachusetts residents who are first-time, full-time undergraduate students from households earning under $100,000 annually. By combining federal and state grants with Lasell scholarships, the University is removing financial barriers while ensuring that students gain the full value of a Lasell education—career preparation, personal growth, and a supportive community invested in their success.
“For 174 years, Lasell University has been committed to making a college education accessible to as many people as possible,” said Lasell President Eric M. Turner. “The Lasell Tuition Commitment ensures that a greater number of talented and motivated students can now pursue their dreams and graduate career ready—without a financial burden.”
Program Details
- First-time, full-time undergraduate students from Massachusetts whose annual household income is under $100,000 are eligible as long as they meet certain requirements.
- Full tuition is covered, through a combination of federal and state grants and Lasell scholarships. Room, board, and fees are not covered.
- Eligibility is renewed annually for eligible students who remain in good academic standing, maintain full-time enrollment, and continue to meet financial criteria.
- Students do not need to complete a separate application—those admitted to Lasell and who file the FAFSA application by the annual deadline will automatically be considered.
Lasell University has long demonstrated its commitment to making a college education accessible to all who seek it. In 2016, the University launched Lasell Works, an innovative program designed around a model of decreasing tuition over four years. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Lasell adjusted tuition rates to reflect whether students were learning on campus or fully online, ensuring fairness and flexibility during a challenging time. In 2022, the University took another bold step by reducing its published cost of attendance by $20,000.
Today’s initiative builds on this legacy, advancing a mission rooted in forward-thinking, value-driven innovation.
