Callie Crossley

We are honored to announce that Callie Crossley will deliver the Lasell University Graduate Commencement address for the Class of 2025.

Callie Crossley

Callie Crossley is a distinguished journalist, an in-demand speaker, and a respected commentator who has appeared on national and regional programs including CNN’s Reliable Sources, the PBS NewsHour, AND Public Radio International’s The Take Away. She hosts Under the Radar with Callie Crossley and is a co-host of The Culture Show, both on GBH Radio. Her Radio essays also air on GBH Radio’s Morning Edition. She is the former host of GBH’s public affairs program, Basic Black, the longest-running program on public television focusing on issues of concern for communities of color.

A former ABC News producer who spent 13 years reporting on health and medical stories for the primetime newsmagazine, 20/20, Crossley is a former fellow of the Council of Independent Colleges. (Formerly The Woodrow Wilson Visiting Fellows Program), guest-lecturing at colleges and universities about media literacy, POLITICS, AND the intersection of race, gender, and media. She also has Harvard Fellowships from both the Nieman Foundation for Journalism and the Institute of Politics at the John F. Kennedy School of Government.

Crossley was a producer for the Oscar®-nominated Documentary Series, Eyes on the Prize: America’s Civil Rights Years. This groundbreaking film Series earned Crossley a National Emmy and the Alfred I. DuPont-Columbia Award. For her work as a radio essayist, program host, writer and producer, Crossley has received multiple Associated Press, Edward R. Murrow, and Clarion awards. She also won top honors for writing producing and co-hosting the radio documentary, Witness to History: WGBH’s 1963 Coverage of the March on Washington.

Crossley is a graduate of Wellesley College.
