Minor: Event Management

I transferred to Lasell because it was a better fit for me. The Business Management and Hospitality professiors provide me with insights from their own real-world experiences. Every professor has always supported me in both my coursework as well as my future career goals.

Why did you choose Lasell?

I chose to transfer to Lasell for my sophomore year because I knew it was a better fit for me. I loved how small the campus is and its proximity to Boston.

What clubs, athletics, organizations are you involved in?

I have been a member of the Lasell University Dance Team for the past three years and have been the Event Coordinator of the LUDT for the past year as well.

Have you had an internship? What were your responsibilities?

I interned at M&M Elite Events in Waltham, MA. At this internship, my responsibilities were to assist in planning and executing corporate and social events by supporting vendor outreach, creating mood boards, drafting meeting agendas, and taking client meeting notes. I also participated in team and client meetings, communicated directly with clients, and provided on-site support during event execution days.

What did you learn? How did the internship relate to what you are doing in your classes or your career goals?

From this internship I learned about the logistics and planning process required to execute a variety of different kinds of events. This internship allowed me to experience everything from corporate events to music festivals, giving me a wide variety of experiences that I can take with me in my future career as an event planner.

How has your academic program or professors helped prepare you for your future career?

The professors within the Business Management and Hospitality Management programs here at Lasell have prepared me for my future career by providing me with insights from their own real-world experiences. Every professor here has always supported me in both my coursework, as well as my future career goals.

What are your Lasell traditions or favorite activities to do on or off campus?

Being so close to Boston has been a great part of being at Lasell. It’s really easy to get to Boston from campus, and there is always plenty to do in the city.
