Admissions

Gabriella Tozaj '26

One of the most valuable parts of my internship was meeting others in the biochemistry field. I am even more motivated to pursue my career path.

Why did you choose Lasell?

Lasell's small campus size is what drew me in. I wanted to form real connections with my professors that I wouldn't get in a big lecture hall format. And, I can’t deny the Victorian houses were a factor in my decision to attend.

What clubs, athletics, organizations are you been involved in?

I am a part of WEST, which promotes the careers of women in STEM and holds many nearby skill-building and networking events. I also am part of Project Onramp, an incredible organization that pairs under-resourced students with paid summer internships in the life sciences.

 Have you had an internship?

This past summer, I was an intern at Seismic Therapeutic in Watertown, nearby to the Lasell campus.

I gained wet lab experience including learning how to run immunological assays on MSD, analyze, and display the results. I also became proficient in cell line culture, passaging, and freezing. I'm now familiar with the equipment and procedures used in a drug development laboratory for running assays, such as handling plate washers, multichannel micropipettes, and cell counting.

How has your academic program or professors helped prepare you for your future career?

I've gained so many hands-on Biochemistry health science skills to include on my resume. I cannot overstate the support of my professors and the students here whose passion for research and learning continues to inspire me.

What are your favorite off campus activities?

I enjoy visiting friends or family in New Hampshire. I also love exploring local bakeries and coffee shops near the Lasell campus.
