Why did you choose your major at Lasell?
I chose to major in Early Childhood Education at Lasell because I have a passion to helping young students grow and develop a love for learning. I mostly want to work with students in preschool or Early Intervention, helping these students excel from the very beginning of their education. After I graduate I plan on pursuing a graduate degree in speech pathology and then work with young children and their developing speech.

What was it that brought you to Lasell?
One thing that first caught my eye about Lasell was the small class sizes. When I learned about all of the field work out in the classrooms beginning in the first year at Lasell I was amazed. The education program is truly unique here. All of the professors have a relationship with students and really apply the connected learning aspect of Lasell into the classwork.

What activities are you involved in or have been involved in (clubs, activities, athletics, etc.)?
Throughout my time at Lasell I have been involved in many activities. I am currently a Resident Assistant, a Senator on Student Government Association, Co President of Tomorrow's Teachers, a member of Student Alumni Association, and work at Rockwell Preschool. In the past, I have also been on an Alternative Spring Break Trip and Co Lead the first Student Alumni Alternative Spring Break trip. I am participating in a Service Learning Trip this January to Antigua to help out in the schools, teaching young children.

Any internship you may have done, or are looking to do? 
Every year I have been at Lasell I have been placed in a classroom. My first year I was at Rockwell Preschool, last year I was in a Kindergarten Classroom in Newton and this year I am in a 2nd grade classroom in Boston. My favorite class thus far was the Kindergarten class. These students were eager to learn and explore. I absolutely loved to read them stories.

Favorite class you have taken at Lasell and why?
My favorite class at Lasell was my Literacy Class with Professor Maynard. Professor Maynard is one of my favorite professors at Lasell. She is extremely engaging in her classes and taught me how to think critically about reading. She has helped to teach me many important things that I will use in the future and I am extremely grateful to have her as a professor. One of the best things at Lasell is the ability to form close relationships with professors and I have certainly with her.

What do you like to do off campus or in Boston?
I like to travel around a lot off campus. I mostly take trips into Boston at Quincy Market or by Fenway. I also go to the Natick Mall and hike Castle Island.

Do you have an interesting story or great memory from Lasell ?
One of my favorite memories from Lasell was my first service learning trips. We went down to Atlanta, GA. On this trip I will never forget the bonds that I made. I gained many friends and one amazing person I became extremely close with. She was a senior and I was a freshman but I learned so much from her. I believe that service learning trips should be taken advantage by every student at Lasell. To this day it has been one of the most life changing experiences. You learn so much about yourself and others, finding your place. Talking to people while we were doing service warmed my heart. I learn their stories was an amazing experience.
