I was born in Castro, Chile but have spent the last 20 years growing up in the South Shore of MA. In 2020, I graduated from Lasell with a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism & Media Writing and a minor in Spanish Language Studies. At Lasell I was a Vice President of Academic Affairs for SGA, President of Niños de Veracruz, Orientation Leader, staff writer for 1851 Chronicle school newspaper, and of course a member of BKS, our student tour guides for admissions.

Favorite thing about Lasell? My favorite thing about Lasell is the Academic Achievement Center. This center provides free peer and professional tutoring for all students. In my opinion, this is one of the best resources available on campus. I owe a great deal of my academic success as well as professional growth to the AAC and the tutors who worked there.

Most asked question? “What’s the average class size?” Lasell has an average class size of 17 and classes are capped at 25 students. Professors believe in Lasell’s connected learning philosophy which is a hands-on approach to learning. There are less lectures and more class discussions. There are less tests and more collaborative papers or group presentations. The goal is less memorizing and more understanding. Smaller class sizes allow for a more individualized learning experience.

What are some of your hobbies? Going on walks with Phoebe (our family’s Pembroke Welsh Corgi), going on outdoor adventures and exploring, reading, going to the movies, and listening to true crime podcasts.

Why did you choose to work at Lasell? Working at my alma mater feels like coming back home. As a first generation college student, Lasell guided me and navigated me through my college experience. This institution opened doors for me that I never thought were possible. I want to now be part of the process of guiding future Lasell students the same way I was guided.
