Advising

The primary purpose of academic advising at Lasell University is to support students in developing and achieving meaningful educational and life goals. The relationship between advisor and advisee is dynamic, and based on trust and mutual respect.

Upon arrival, all students at Lasell University are assigned a professional academic advisor. First-year students' advisors are staff members that advise students on academic issues, and support and guide students in their transition to college life at Lasell. Most students are then paired with a faculty advisor during their sophomore year. Faculty advisors are paired with students based on their majors and schools. All academic advisors work with students in selecting classes, arranging course schedules, and identifying resources to solve problems or meet specific needs.
Students meet with their advisors regularly during scheduled advising times and open times throughout the semester.  Advisors will refer students to the many support services offered at the University to help ensure academic success, including the Academic Achievement Center, Registrar's office, Financial Planning, Career Development, Residential Life, Health Services, and the Counseling Center.

The advantage of attending a small institution is the personalized approach provided. There is a network of faculty and staff ready to work with students both in and out of the classroom so they may meet their full potential.
