The Ignite Program provides additional personalized academic support, social skill support, or both, to help students succeed inside and outside of the classroom. Whether seeking academic guidance or a smoother transition to college life, this program offers a comprehensive, tailored experience to help students grow and thrive. These services are offered in addition to the resources available to all students through the Academic Achievement Center, including tutoring, workshops, and writing assistance.

This program is designed to provide structured support in both academic and social domains, helping students transition into college life and succeed. It’s particularly suited for students who have previously benefited from extra academic or social guidance. Whether you’ve had an IEP or 504 plan, or simply need additional support, this program can help you achieve your goals at Lasell University.
Students entering September 2026 and beyond will be able to identify interest on their Common Application, Lasell University application, or LEAP application. If applicable, additional information on students’ strengths and challenges may be requested . A meeting with Ignite staff members may also be requested of students and families.
Ignite is available to any student who feels they would benefit from academic and/or social support, including those with self-identified needs. It is designed to support students who may have previously benefitted from structured academic or social support, such as those with an IEP or 504 plan. This type of previous support is not a requirement for eligibility in Ignite, however. Students do not need to have documented disabilities or conditions to be eligible.
Applicants must meet Lasell’s existing admission requirements.
Ignite complements existing academic resources by offering additional, personalized support outside the classroom. The program does not alter course objectives, learning outcomes, requirements, or curriculum. It does not include in-class support.
By enrolling in one or both Ignite programs, students are identifying their commitment to the program for the semesters identified on the Ignite Enrollment Form. Due to planning and resource allocated based upon enrollment, the Ignite program does not follow the Tuition Refund schedule. Students who wish to leave the Ignite program at any point during the enrolled semester, forfeit that semester’s fee. There is no partial/prorated refund prior to the end of the semester.
The Ignite Program is not part of the regular cost of tuition or fees, so there is no additional financial aid for this program. Joining or leaving the Ignite Program will not change any financial aid you get from Lasell University, federal government or the state.
