Lasell Joins National Association of Collegiate Esports

July 14, 2025

Lasell University’s Esports Program is officially joining the National Association of Collegiate Esports (NACE), becoming part of a growing network of over 200 colleges and universities nationwide. Starting in the fall of 2025, all Lasell Esports Club competitions will be organized through NACE, further elevating the competitive gaming experience for students.

The club’s Overwatch team will open their season on September 15, competing in weekly matches throughout the fall every Monday. Lasell Esports is also looking to recruit new and returning players for the NACE Spring League. Students interested in joining teams for Rocket League, League of Legends, Call of Duty, Valorant, or Super Smash Bros are encouraged to get involved. Practices for the Spring League are anticipated to begin in the fall of 2025 semester as well.

Located in the Michael Alexander Science and Technology Center, the Lasell Esports Labprovides state-of-the-art Lenovo Legion PCs, Corsair T2 Road Warrior gaming chairs, gaming peripherals, and high-speed internet access to ensure an oprtimal environment for competitive gaming.

NACE is a nonprofit dedicated to growing collegiate esports. Member institutions adhere to six essential criteria including faculty support, dedicated esports facilities, active recruitment, and accreditation.

“If you or someone you know is interested in competing, now’s the time to reach out,” said Christina Alejandre, Program Director for Esports and Gaming and Assistant Professor.  “Whether you’re a returning player or brand new to Lasell Esports, we’d love to connect and see where you might fit in.”

Students interested in joining the Overwatch team should contact Kurt Wirth at kwrith@lasell.edu. For other inquiries or general information, students can reach out to Christina Alejandre at calejandre@lasell.edu.
