Lasell University and Elms College Partner to Create New Pathway to Biotechnology Master’s Degree
June 11, 2026

Lasell University and Elms College have announced a new partnership designed to create additional opportunities for students interested in careers in biotechnology and life sciences.
Through a new agreement between the two institutions, qualified Lasell University students will be able to take advanced biotechnology in-person courses at Lasell during the summer and transfer up to six credits directly into the Elms College Master of Biotechnology program.
This flexible master’s program is tailored to the busy schedules of working adults, allowing students to complete coursework online or in person on their own timeline. The program offers two tracks: a coursework-only pathway and a coursework plus research pathway. The research requirement is highly adaptable and can even be fulfilled using projects from a student's current employment.
The collaboration is intended to make the transition into graduate school more seamless for Biology, Biochemistry, and Forensic Science majors, while helping students gain valuable laboratory and research experience and career preparation in one of today’s fastest-growing industries.
As part of the agreement, students will be able to take a series of summer biotechnology courses on Lasell’s campus, including:
- Advanced Biotechnology Lecture
- Advanced Biotechnology Lab
- Cell Culture (Lecture and Lab)
- Undergraduate Research in Science
Lasell students who later enroll in the Elms College Master of Biotechnology program will be able to apply these courses toward their graduate degree.
The partnership also reflects a broader commitment by both institutions to strengthen academic collaboration, expand access to graduate education, and support workforce development in the biotechnology field.
