Why did you choose your major at Lasell?
I wanted to do something that I would enjoy and would never be the same thing since I hate the feeling of being in a rut.

I really wanted a meaningful job and I have always found joy in seeing a friend through a hard time or having a conversation with someone and seeing at the end of it that they are better or their problem is solved. So, when I read about art therapy I knew it was the perfect combo. Unfortunately there are few programs in New England that I thought fit what I wanted to do so I instead decided to commit to psychology. I plan on going for my masters after graduation and find a school that also has art therapy certifications.

What was it that brought you to Lasell?
I did a lot of visits to Lasell before I came here and every time I was more and more excited about it. The professors who spoke at presentations seemed so passionate about their work and just overall genuine, kind people. I also knew right away that I wanted a small school with small classes so I can actually get to know my professors to really know their experiences in the field.

What activities are you involved in or have been involved in (clubs, activities, athletics, etc.)?
I have been a part of Drama Club since I came to Lasell. I also started the Improv club with the help of friends and am a co-captain. I also have been a member of Chorus since freshman year and joined Jazz band when it was created my sophomore year. Other clubs and group I have been a part of and enjoyed is knitting club and Diversity and Inclusion Committee. I wish I had more time because of all the other clubs I admire.

Any internship you may have done, or are looking to do?
I worked at the Boys and Girls Club in Waltham and worked with kids ages five all the way up to eighteen. I had a lot of fun with the kids at the club as well as the people who worked there.

Favorite class you have taken at Lasell and why?
I enjoyed a lot of my classes. One of my favorite is psychology in human sexuality. It wasn't just about the psychology but also educating on the diversity in our culture on topics within human sexuality. We learned an accurate description of all identifications in the LGBTQAI plus community. Our Prof was also extremely open minded on hearing new perspectives and everyone's thoughts were respected and listened to.

What do you like to do off campus or in Boston?
Besides doing nothing and relaxing, watching TV/movies with friends, I like going to concerts. I went to a few as an underclassmen but it wasn't until I turned 21 I started hearing of an endless amount of places with cool bands and events happening every night. I wish I knew earlier because a lot of places are actually 18+. I have also been fortunate enough to see quite a few live shows including the Broadway tour of Something Rotten the musical. Boston is such a busy place that not only is there a lot of local stuff happening, but bands and shows come to Boston. As a person from a small town it was almost overwhelming with how much was happening.

Do you have an interesting story or great memory from Lasell that you would be willing to share?
When I go home and people ask me how school is going I also get excited because I have had so many experiences that I never even had the opportunity back at home. The thing that I have taken away from Lasell the most is my friends.
