ACBSPAccreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs
The Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) is a leading specialized accreditation association for business education supporting, celebrating, and rewarding teaching excellence. The association embraces the virtues of teaching excellence and emphasizes to students that it is essential to learn how to learn.

ACBSP accredits business, accounting, and business-related programs at the associate, baccalaureate, master, and doctorate degree levels worldwide. Recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) in 2001 and again in 2011, ACBSP was the first to offer specialized business accreditation at all degree levels.

COSMACommission on Sport Management Accreditation
The Commission on Sport Management Accreditation is a specialized accrediting body whose purpose is to promote and recognize excellence in sport management education worldwide in colleges and universities at the baccalaureate and graduate levels through specialized accreditation.

Institutions, students, employers, and the general public all benefit from the external verification of quality provided through COSMA's accreditation process. They also benefit from the process of continuous quality improvement that is encouraged by COSMA's developmental approach to promoting excellence in sport management education.

NEASCThe New England Association of Schools and Colleges
The New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) is a non-governmental, nationally recognized organization whose affiliated institutions include elementary schools through collegiate institutions offering post-graduate instruction.

Accreditation of an institution by the New England Association indicates that it meets or exceeds criteria for the assessment on institutional quality periodically applied through a peer group review process.

An accredited school or college is one which has available the necessary resources to achieve its stated purposes through appropriate educational programs, is substantially doing so, and gives reasonable evidence that it will continue to do so in the foreseeable future. Institutional integrity is also addressed through accreditation.

Accreditation by the New England Association is not partial but applies to the institution as a whole. As such, it is not a guarantee of the quality of every course or program offered, or the competence of individual graduates. Rather, it provides reasonable assurance about the quality of opportunities available to students who attend the institution.

CAATEThe Commission of Accreditation of Athletic Training Education
The purpose of the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) is to develop, maintain, and promote appropriate minimum standards of quality of entry level Athletic Training education programs. CAATE is sponsored by The American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, and the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA).

The Standards for the Accreditation of Entry Level Educational Programs for the Athletic Trainer (Standards) are used to prepare entry-level athletic trainers. It is each institution’s responsibility to demonstrate compliance with these Standards in order to obtain and maintain recognition as a CAATE-accredited Athletic Training Education Program (ATEP).

The Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education
Accreditation is a process to ensure that education provided by institutions of higher education meets acceptable levels of quality. Accrediting agencies, which are private educational associations of regional or national scope, develop evaluation criteria and conduct peer evaluations to assess whether or not those criteria are met. Institutions and/or programs that request an agency's evaluation and that meet an agency's criteria are then "accredited" by that agency.

The Board of Higher Education in Massachusetts does not accredit programs or institutions. Accreditation of institutions is done by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. In addition, there are specialized accrediting bodies for certain programs of study to ensure that programs meet necessary quality standards.

Program approval is the process through which a program or sponsoring organization may receive state approval. The Commissioner of Education has the statutory authority to approve programs that prepare candidates for educator licensure in Massachusetts. Such programs may be offered by public and private higher education institutions, whether or not they also lead to degrees, and other sponsoring organizations.

The fundamental purpose of state approval of educator preparation programs is to assure the public that teachers and other educators who complete these programs in Massachusetts are prepared to educate our PreK-12 students according to the learning standards in the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks.

Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education ProgramsCommission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs
The Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) is a programmatic postsecondary accrediting agency recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and carries out its accrediting activities in cooperation with 19 review committees (Committees on Accreditation). CAAHEP currently accredits over 2100 entry level education programs in 23 health science professions.

NAEYCNational Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education
NAEYC works with NCATE (National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education) to review the early childhood programs at four-year colleges and universities. NAEYC peer reviewers are faculty in early childhood programs and evaluate program reports to determine whether programs meet the NAEYC Professional Preparation Standards. If a program meets the standards and receives National Recognition, and if the institution goes on to be accredited by NCATE, the program has received a nationally known mark of quality.

Lasell Introduces Cross-Registration Program with Regis College, Expanding on Courses Offered  Monday, March 30, 2015Lasell College will begin a cross-registration program with Regis College this Fall, enabling undergraduate students to enroll in additional courses there at no additional cost. Lasell students will be able to add selected Regis courses to their Lasell schedule starting with pre-registration this April.
