Callahan earns top conference honor as baseball renaissance continues
By David Nathan
Led by Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Player of the Year Tim Callahan ’25 G’26 (pictured left), Lasell’s baseball team continued its resurgence under former Lasers standout Billy Uberti ’14 in 2025.
Callahan, an infielder from Attleboro, Massachusetts, hit .425 and slugged .550 while stealing 25 bases and striking out just 15 times in 41 games. He is Lasell’s all-time leader in batting average (.401) and on-base percentage (.478).
“Tim had one of the greatest individual seasons in program history,” Uberti says. “He has the opportunity to hold most of the Lasell career offensive records and become the most decorated player in the history of the program.”
As a team, Lasell finished 25-16 overall—the most victories in program history—and went 11–5 in the GNAC.
While Callahan earned All-GNAC first-team honors, left-handed pitcher Matthew Fletcher ’25 (6-3 record, 3.15 ERA, 79 strikeouts in 60 innings) made the second team, and infielder Connor Freitas ’25 (.327 average, 38 RBIs) was a third-team pick. Pitcher Brendan Zaleski ’25 was selected to the GNAC All-Sportsmanship team.
In addition to the success of the Lasell varsity, the new junior varsity program, with a roster of 21 student-athletes, provided a vital developmental platform for players seeking to enhance their skills and gain college experience. The program achieved 100 percent player retention, reflecting its value as an athletic and academic growth opportunity.
