On-Campus Employment

On-Campus Employment:
All F-1 students are permitted to work on-campus at Lasell College part-time while school is in session and full-time during the summer and official school breaks. Here are the key aspects of on-campus employment:

  • Employment is limited to 20 hours per week while school is in session. Students may work more than 20 hours per week during the summer and official school breaks.
  • New incoming students cannot begin working on-campus more than 30 days before classes begin.
  • Transfer students can work on campus after their SEVIS record has been transferred to Lasell.
  • Students can only work on-campus until the end date on their form I-20.
  • Authorization from USCIS is not required.
  • If you obtain paid on-campus employment, you must apply for a Social Security Number. For instructions on how to apply, please visit the Social Security page.

Note: Some organizations, such as Lasell Village, Chartwells, and the PACES tutoring program, that are associated with Lasell can be considered on-campus employment.  If you have been offered a job and you are unsure if it is considered an on-campus job or not, then it is best to check with the Office of International Services.

Students that are offered on campus employment must complete the "International Student On-Campus Employment - Confirmation of Job Offer". It must be signed by your campus supervisor and a DSO in the Office of International Services.
