Recreation and Intramurals

The Athletic Center which includes a regulation size gymnasium, an overhead track and two weight rooms is open more than 80 hours/week.  The gym is staffed by a CPR certified student during all open hours.  The athletic center is open to all members of the Lasell community throughout the year and a schedule of "open" gym time is posted in the athletic center.

Aerobics classes are offered 4-6 times per week during the school year. These classes are open to all members of the Lasell Community and are held in the dance studio of the athletic center. The classes  include Pilates, cardio kickboxing,  step aerobics and muscle conditioning.  Class schedules are posted in the Athletic Center.

All members of the Lasell Community have access to free canoe and kayak rentals, Monday - Friday, at Charles River Canoe and Kayak in Newton.  A valid Lasell ID can be used to rent canoes or kayaks at the Marriott location.  For more information or to inquire about weekend rentals,  contact the athletic department at 617-243-2147.

All members of the Lasell Community have free access to cross country skiing in the winter.  A valid Lasell ID is good for a ski pass at the Weston Ski Track located a few miles from the Lasell Campus.  For more information, contact the athletic department at 617-243-2147.

ROWING

Rowing and sculling lessons are offered on the Charles River at the Lasell Boathouse.  The lessons take place on the water in the fall and in the spring.   Rowing is open to all members of the Lasell Community.  Informational meetings regarding rowing and scullling are held at the beginning of each semester.  For more information, contact the athletic department at 617-243-2147.

INTRAMURALS

The athletic department sponsors intramural events throughout the year.  Flag football is offered in the fall, basketball in the winter and wiffle ball in the spring.  Signs are posted in the athletic center and around campus regarding information for these events.  For more information, contact the athletic department at 617-243-2188.
