Agnes Flaherty created a scrapbook during her time as a Lasell student that was acquired last year by The Second Shelf, a bookstore in London that specializes in rare books by women. Brennan Library Director Julie McBrien and her colleagues worked with Second Shelves to provide historical context on what Flaherty’s life at Lasell would have been like at the turn of the century. Thanks to a $2,500 gift from the Rhode Island Foundation, the scrapbook now is part of the library’s Winslow Archives. Says Julie, “We’re so happy to have this incredible piece of Lasell’s history!”
