Fans of Esports (and those studying it at Lasell) now have a home for competitive play and community-building in the Science and Technology Center. The Esports Lab held an official launch on Michal Longe ’95 School of Business Day in March.

The lab features Lenovo Legion gaming PCs, Corsair T2 Road Warrior gaming chairs, gaming mice and keyboards, gaming consoles and controllers, and high-speed internet.

“Esports and gaming have rapidly become one of the most popular forms of entertainment in the world,” said Christina Alejandre, visiting professor and program director of Esports and gaming business at Lasell.

“The industry made $184 billion in 2022 alone, which is more than the entertainment and music industries combined,” she said. “That’s why we are so excited about this lab — we’ve created an environment that is conducive to providing gamers with the tools they need to take their skills to the next level.”

She and Esports Club President and founder Dom Desantis ’23 (the first Lasell student to minor in Esports and Gaming Management) are forming teams so that students can practice together and eventually compete in collegiate leagues.
