Athletic Training students are provided with opportunities to draw on professional experience and newly acquired knowledge and skills to prepare for a career in various settings. Coursework is complemented by opportunities to put learning into practice through a series of 5 clinical experiences. Students hone their clinical skills and decision-making through simulation, standardized patient encounters, and lab-based activities. The program is built upon the core values of academic integrity, social responsibility, and clinical excellence. Clinical education and experiences

The MSAT program is delivered in our state-of-the-art Science and Technology Center with specially designed health and biology labs. Students participate in clinical experiences with preceptors in a variety of practice settings. The Lasell MSAT program utilizes a large network of clinical sites, including professional sports, collegiate, secondary schools, and world-renowned healthcare facilities.

Through clinical education and experiences, students gain the skills to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide preventative services, emergency care, clinical diagnosis, therapeutic intervention, and rehabilitation.

Designed with flexibility in mind

The two-year curriculum is designed with student flexibility in mind. Students participate in courses on-campus over the first four semesters. The final semester in year 2 provides a transition from face-to-face learning to a hybrid model, during which courses are delivered in an online format to facilitate enhanced clinical experience opportunities. Over the two-year (5 semesters) program, these rich educational experiences prepare students to provide exceptional healthcare and become leaders in the athletic training profession.

Accreditation and outcomes

Lasell University is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE). The program is in good standing in accordance with the CAATE, 2001 K Street NW, 3rd Floor North., Washington, DC 20006.

What our students have to say

“I've learned how much Lasell University offers, such as connected learning and internship/clinical opportunities. Lasell's Master of Science in Athletic Training program offers 5 unique clinical experiences to ensure their students get the most knowledge through a hands-on approach.

These clinicals allow me to work in different environments as an Athletic Trainer and discover which is best for me. Choosing Lasell for my MSAT allows me to apply the skills and knowledge learned in the classroom to the real world. I am excited for the new challenges and experiences to come as well as honored to become a Double Laser."
