Adjunct Journalist in Residence

The School of Health Sciences at Lasell University seeks an adjunct professor to teach (1) section of MATH 107-Geometry in the Fall 2022 semester.

The courses will meet in person:

·       Monday and Wednesdays 3:30-4:45 AM   (MATH 107.A)

Course Title: MATH 107-Geometry

Description:

This course is an introduction to the essentials of Euclidean geometry. Topics covered include: reasoning in mathematics, the relationship between algebra and geometry, analytic geometry, proofs and constructive triangles, circles, quadrilaterals, polygons, surfaces and solids and historical notes about famous geometricians.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Provide instruction for all sessions of assigned courses utilizing the college philosophy of connected learning
Align course assignments with departmental learning outcomes and university core curriculum learning outcomes; provide student work samples for assessment purposes
Incorporate Canvas (learning management system) into the course
Maintain office hours each week
Keep accurate records of student progress and complete mid-semester and final grade reports


Minimum Qualifications:

• Candidates should have M.S, M.Ed., or equivalent (PhD preferred) in related field

• Prior undergraduate-level teaching experience

• Strong communication skills, ability to provide mentorship and guidance remotely by email, phone and or video call, and willingness to offer extensive feedback on student work Required
