The Lasell Works program was created by Lasell University to help ease the financial burden of higher education. Students accepted to the Lasell Works program will experience the same education and benefits of a traditional 4-year university experience. The difference is — Lasell Works students will pay less in tuition each year they are enrolled.
Students in the Lasell Works program spend their sophomore year living off campus in a location of their choice, and work for 16-20 hours per week while completing their coursework online, thereby gaining a year of valuable employment experience.
The Sophomore Year Experience, which necessitates living off campus in a location of a student's choice, is a signature and integral part of the Lasell Works program. All students in the Lasell Works program are required to take advantage of this remarkable opportunity, and staff in the Office of Lasell Works assist students in planning and making the most of this aspect of the program.
Absolutely! Students in Lasell Works come from all over the country, and even from outside of the U.S. For their Sophomore Year Experience, many students in the Lasell Works program choose to return to their hometowns, but can be located anywhere that suits their needs and goals.
The Lasell Works program accommodates students in almost every field of study. Only four academic majors (graphic design, fashion design, education, and exercise science) have major-specific requirements that preclude students from taking part in the Lasell Works program.
Students in the Lasell Works program are engaged in thoughtful, intentional planning for their future careers over the course of four years. Students develop their strengths as leaders, decision-makers, and team members. The Sophomore Year Experience also gives students a unique chance to connect classroom lessons and skills with practical application in a professional work environment of their choice.
