Athletic Training Clinical Education

Lasell University offers diverse clinical opportunities tailoring student experiences to their individual career goals. Students participate in four integrated clinical experiences and an immersive clinical experience. During the first year of the program, students are placed at a clinical site in the metro-Boston area. The following summer, students complete their clinical immersion experience which can be completed locally or anywhere in the United States. The second year of the MSAT program is delivered in an online format allowing students enhanced flexibility to continue their clinical experiences and coursework at a distance. This model allows students to participate in a variety of athletic training practice settings outside the metro-Boston area. Over the 5 clinical courses, students have significant input in their clinical experience settings and work in conjunction with the Coordinator of Clinical Education to ensure successful clinical experiences.

During their clinical experiences, students provide real-time patient care. Clinical rotations are designed to allow students opportunities to integrate their athletic training knowledge and clinical skills in real-world settings. Each successive clinical allows for progressive responsibility and autonomy. Throughout the program, students are assigned to a variety of clinical sites, preceptors, and patient populations.
