Victoria Kennedy to Speak at Lasell about Sen. Kennedy’s Legacy

Victoria Reggie Kennedy, wife of the late US Senator Edward M. Kennedy, will speak to the Lasell community this week about her husband's legacy and his life's work in Washington.

Victoria Kennedy, will speak Thursday, March 27, at Yamawaki Auditorium from 12:30 to 2:00 pm. The event is open to all members of the Lasell community.

Kennedy will speak about Senator Kennedy's 47 years of service in the U.S. Senate representing Massachusetts voters as well as his leadership and commitment to many important issues facing the country including education, health care, and civil rights. Senator Kennedy died in 2009.

Kennedy is the Co-Founder and President of the Board of the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate (the EMK Institute), which is dedicated to educating the public about our government, invigorating public discourse, encouraging participatory democracy, and inspiring the next generation of citizens and leaders to engage in the public square.

The new facility, which is scheduled to open this year in partnership with the University of Massachusetts Boston (UMass), will be located on the campus of UMass Boston and adjacent to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library.
