Donato TramutoOn Saturday, May 12, Tivity Health Inc. CEO Donato Tramuto will deliver the keynote address at Lasell College's 164th commencement ceremonies.

Tramuto, who is also the president and founder of the nonprofit Health eVillages, is an innovator and industry leader with more than 35 years of experience in healthcare. He is widely recognized for his commitment to improve global healthcare access which includes improving medication safety, expanding digital access, and developing health improvement and fitness programs to promote healthier aging.

"Tramuto's decades-long commitment to the healthcare industry and social change makes him an ideal candidate to address our students at this critical time when national conversations around access to healthcare dominate the news," said Lasell President Michael B. Alexander. "We are honored to have him on campus where he will meet with many of our students who are preparing to enter the burgeoning and evolving healthcare industry."

Tramuto founded Health eVillages in 2011, with projects in Kenya, Uganda, South Sudan, Haiti, and the United States. Today, the nonprofit currently provides 400 state-of-the-art mobile tablets to 18 global and domestic communities with challenging clinical environments. Through these tablets - which feature medical, nursing, and public health applications and content tailored to the unique needs of each community - users can view medical resources and support tools without internet access.

In addition to delivering the keynote address, Tramuto will receive an honorary doctorate of humane letters from Lasell. He currently holds two other honorary degrees, one from the College of Fine Arts at the University of Massachusetts at Lowell and another from Thomas Jefferson University. In 2017, he received the Robert F. Kennedy Children's Action Corps Embracing the Legacy Award - an honor given to individuals committed to bettering the lives of children and families.

Tramuto will visit campus in early April to host a lecture for Lasell Village residents and a classroom session with Associate Dean of the School of Health Sciences Cris Haverty on building compassionate leadership in healthcare. In addition, Tramuto will participate in a "Lunch and Learn" session, a new program that connects successful industry representatives with current students.
