Students, Faculty Prepare for Vietnam Trip

A group of faculty and students will to travel to Vietnam over the Winter break as part of Lasell's Shoulder to Shoulder international service learning program.

Three faculty and 10 students will be traveling to Danang in central Vietnam on December 29, spending two weeks abroad.

The students will work with the charity organization SOS Children's Village where they will team teach English pronunciation in a classroom/school setting. The student work will also  include interaction activities with youngsters that range from a drawing competition to soccer game and flash mob dancing. The students plan to blog about their experience in Vietnam during the trip as well.

The Vietnam trip is linked to a Fall semester course taken by students in advance of the two-week experience abroad. The course introduces students to the Vietnamese society today and covers basic elements of Vietnamese politics, economic development, culture, history, language, literature and arts.
