Dr. Claudia Rinaldi Honored with Joan Weiler Arnow Professorship
June 19, 2020
Dr. Claudia Rinaldi, Lasell University's Program Chair of Education, was named the ninth recipient of the Joan Weiler Arnow Professorship in June 2020. The position was established by Robert and Joan Weiler Arnow '49 to provide support for a scholar-teacher whose commitment to teaching and personal interest in students would enhance the learning process and make a significant contribution to the overall Lasell community.
According to Provost Jim Ostrow, Rinaldi is a leading scholar in the field of education, particularly in the areas of assessment, learning disabilities, and English language learning. Additionally, she works as an educational consultant and presenter, and has published books, articles, and commissioned reports in the education field. At Lasell, she is the founding director of the Pathways to Diversity program, geared toward connecting Lasell undergraduate students with underrepresented minority high school students to demonstrate pathways to success in higher education and to diversify the teaching field.
Rinaldi believes that "Success isn't just about what you accomplish in your life; it's about what you inspire others to do." The quote, she says, "speaks to the values that define me."
