The Benefit of Trust
March 04, 2020
Law and Public Affairs graduate Jessimina Jean '19 is a trust administrator at Milne Law, where she works directly with trust beneficiaries and their families. The Lasell alumna processes family requests for distributions and assists attorneys in helping clients qualify for public benefits and housing.
"Advocating for disabled persons, in particular, has had a profound impact on me," she says. "It has given me insight into the hardships people face and the limited resources available."
It gives Jean great pride to provide relief to those clients.
"The most fulfilling aspect of my career is helping trust beneficiaries achieve milestone goals, such as obtaining housing or higher education," she says. "It is extremely rewarding to witness them flourish as a result of them utilizing their trust to its fullest potential."
Jean was a member of the Mock Trial team as a Lasell University undergraduate student. She gained more confidence and learned the skills needed for her career after graduation under the guidance of Professors Lori Rosenthal and Linda Bucci. She is grateful for the opportunities that Mock Trial afforded her in preparing for her senior internship at John Hancock Life Insurance and her current role at Milne.
"I had a fantastic experience and will always appreciate the memories and lessons I have from Lasell."
