Gwyther comes to Lasell College with 20 years of experience working with higher education institutions and nonprofit organizations.  In her new role, she will be responsible for all fundraising functions, including campaign planning and execution, annual and planned giving and stewardship, as well as alumni relations and college events. Gwyther will provide staff support to Lasell's Board of Trustee Governance and Audit Committee and will serve as the senior management team liaison to the School of Health Sciences.

While at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, Gwyther contributed to the development of the CNS Strategic Action Plan for Transformative Growth, which included a focus on corporate support and increased board engagement. Additionally, Gwyther managed the CNS advisory board and oversaw development and communication activities.

Prior to her tenure at UMass Amherst, Gwyther served in leadership positions at Landmark College, the Connecticut River Conservancy, the Center for Biological Diversity, and the Catawba River Foundation. In these roles she directed foundation and corporate relations programs, managed events, volunteers, advisory boards and relationships with diverse campus constituents, oversaw alumni relations programs, expanded major gift and planned giving initiatives, and fulfilled strategic planning initiatives.

"Chelsea comes to Lasell with extensive background in higher education and nonprofit management," said Lasell College President Michael B. Alexander. "She is a strong advocate and proven leader in institutional communications and an effective development officer, and we look forward to her many contributions to the Lasell community."

Gwyther earned a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies from Prescott College in Arizona, and a Master of Public Administration with a concentration in nonprofit management from the University of North Carolina, Charlotte.
