Discover Lasell

Out on Display

October 03, 2018

Ten Lasell College students studying Fashion Design and Production displayed their work at an exhibit that debuted on October 2 as part of Fashion Week at the Boston Seaport.

The exhibit was curated by independent fashion show producer and stylist, Kathy Benharris. Benharris coached models and developed choreography for Lasell's Spring Runway Show. She advocated to showcase pieces from that show at Boston Fashion Week.

"I have always found the quality of design work from Lasell students to be among the best," said Benharris. "This fashion installation is a wonderful representation of the creative talent Lasell produces."

The selected garments resulted from work in courses in which students explored fashion design concepts and non-textile construction. Several of the displayed works were fashioned from items such as CDs, grommets, mirrors, duct tape, coffee filters, plastic wrap, and tarp. For each of the selected students, the opportunity to immerse in the local fashion scene was unparalleled.
