Adjunct Faculty – Mathematics

The Mathematics Department at Lasell University is seeking an adjunct instructor for the fall semester. The University is looking for qualified candidates who employ an active teaching style in a manner consistent with its connected learning philosophy. The following courses and sections are tentatively available:

MATH 208 (Statistics):
Monday and Wednesday 9:30 - 10:45 AM

Course Introduction (as described in our course catalog):

MATH 208 - Introductory Statistics:
This is an introductory course in descriptive and inferential statistics. Topics include: data analysis, and graphical methods of describing data, measures of central tendency and variability, probability, the normal distribution, sampling distributions, confidence intervals, hypothesis testing, correlation, and regression analysis. Excel will be utilized throughout the course.


Qualifications
A minimum of a master's degree in mathematics or mathematics education with previous teaching experience is preferred (mathematics educators versus scholars are also preferred). Candidates interested in teaching MATH 106 must have a background using on-line software and experience with MyMathLab is preferred. Candidates interested in teaching MATH 208 must have a background using Excel.

Classes start on Monday, September 9, 2019 and run through December 23, 2019. Interviews will be conducted immediately after reviewing applications based on qualifications.
