Adjunct Faculty- ENV101 Intro to Environmental Studies

The Environmental Studies Program seeks an adjunct instructor to teach ENV101 - Introduction to Environmental Studies on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. - 10:45 a.m. in Spring 2020 (classes from January 22 - May 4, 2020).

Responsibilities and Duties:
       • Provide face to face instruction for all sessions utilizing the college philosophy of connected learning
       • Provide a syllabus and course outline to students that clearly communicates course content and requirements
       • Maintain 1 office hour each week on campus
       • Incorporate Canvas (online learning management system) into the course
       • Keep accurate and timely records of student progress (grades) and complete mid-semester and final grade reports (on Canvas)

Qualifications:
A master's degree or higher in Environmental Studies or a related field. Professional experience in the environmental field and prior college-level teaching experience preferred.

ENV101 - Intro to Environmental Studies (KP)
This course uses case studies to explore global environmental challenges and engages students in considering sustainable solutions. Solutions that promote a healthy environment, social equality, and economic viability are discussed. Students explore steps individuals, organizations, and communities can take to reduce their ecological footprint and to slow global warming. Leaders from community organizations and local government agencies are invited to discuss issues with students.
