Adjunct Faculty - Psychology / Human Services

The Psychology Program in the School of Humanities, Education, Justice & Social Sciences is seeking someone to teach some of our open classes.

These are all face-to-face classes that are already scheduled. Please indicate which sections are of interest to you in your response - the PSYC101 sections may not all be available.

• Psychology of Diversity: Wednesdays 6 - 8:30 pm
• Advanced Internship Seminar: (teaching counseling skills, writing a literature review, and professional skills): Tues/Thurs 9:30 - 10:45
• Child Development: T/Th 11-12:15
• Psychological Perspectives (PSYC101): multiple sections may be available:
o Tues/Thurs 8 - 9:15 am
o Tues/Thurs 9:30 - 10:45 am
o Tues/Thurs 11 - 12:15 am
o Tues/Thurs 12:30 - 1:45

Responsibilities and Duties:
• Provide instruction for all sessions of assigned courses utilizing the college philosophy of connected learning.
• Provide a syllabus and course outline to students that clearly communicates course learning outcomes.
• Align some course assignments with departmental and college core curriculum goals learning goals and provide student work samples for college assessment purposes (sample assignments available)
• Maintain office hours each week.
• Incorporate Canvas (online learning platform) into the course.
• Keep accurate records of student progress (grades) and complete mid-semester and final grade reports.

Qualifications:
A willingness to incorporate the college's Connected Learning Philosophy into the course as well as a master's degree in a related field are required (doctoral degree preferred). Career-relevant experience such as research and/or statistics is a plus. Some of these courses are part of our general education core curriculum as well as the majors offered in the Social Sciences Department; thus, the successful candidate will have experience teaching students from a variety of majors and be willing to collaborate with other instructors on core curriculum and major-specific learning goals.
