The School of Health Sciences at Lasell University seeks adjunct professor(s) to teach Organic Chemistry I lecture, labs, and recitations, in the Fall 2022 semester.
The courses will meet in person:
· Tuesdays and Thursdays 9:30-10:45 (CHEM 303.A- lecture)
· Fridays 10:00 - 12:30 (CHEM 303.LA- laboratory)
· Fridays 1:00 - 3:30 (CHEM 303.LB- laboratory)
Course Title: Organic Chemistry I
Description
This course is focused on the structure and chemistry of organic compounds. Topics include thermodynamics, resonance, reaction mechanisms of organic functional groups and stereochemistry.
Course Title: Organic Chemistry I Laboratory
Description
This laboratory course supports the material presented in the Organic Chemistry I lecture course.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Provide instruction for all sessions of assigned courses utilizing the college philosophy of connected learning
Align course assignments with departmental learning outcomes and university core curriculum learning outcomes; provide student work samples for assessment purposes
Incorporate Canvas (learning management system) into the course
Maintain office hours each week
Keep accurate records of student progress and complete mid-semester and final grade reports
Minimum Qualifications:
• Candidates should have M.S, M.Ed., or equivalent (PhD preferred) in related field
• Prior undergraduate-level teaching experience
• Strong communication skills, ability to provide mentorship and guidance remotely by email, phone and or video call, and willingness to offer extensive feedback on student work required
